A beautiful, intricate novel about love, pride and prejudices :).

My first thoughts: It was my first book set in the early 19th century and a real classic story. I wasn't sure if I would like the book because not every women's literature is something for me, but it was wonderful <3 <3 <3. I'll begin now with the review, before I can't say more because of blushing to much (fan blushing) :D:

The Plot: The novel is set in the 19th century around Netherfield Park, in England. The main character is Elizabeth Bennet who has five other sisters and all are unmarried in the beginning of the novel. Mr Bingley, a rich and suitable candidate as well as Mr Darcy, a rather stubborn and distanced man with the need of his status and reputation are settling in the neighborhood.
Of course, it is rather alarming for the mother that they are all unmarried so she wants them to get married soon. Only their father is rather more interested in books like his daughter Elizabeth than thinking about promising marriages for his daughters which makes their mother nervous. She feels responsible for their luck of finding suitable matches.

The five sisters and characteristics:
Jane :the most beautiful and kind-hearted of them
Elizabeth: intelligent like her father, but sarcastic
Mary: not as beautiful as Jane, but she is a keen learner, also in music (but she has no good taste in music), religious
Catherine, Kitty: follows what her sister Mary says her
Lydia: flirts easily and is still a child

The five sisters go to a ball where they meet Mr Bingley and Mr Darcy: Mr Bingley is liked immediately because he loves talking and socialising whereby Mr Darcy is distant and dislikes dancing. So it is clear that the charmant Mr Bingley and the beautiful Jane find another and begin to fall in love.

On the other hand, Elizabeth hears how Darcy mocks about her, but she wears a smile and is happy that her sister Jane seems to have found the right man for marriage.
Jane wants to get to know the family of Mr Bingley which is why she decides to meet his sister Caroline. But she gets a cold during her stay and Elizabeth has to go and care for her.
In this time, Darcy begins to behave more warm-hearted to Elizabeth.

Meanwhile a clergyman named Mr Collins and legacy of Longbourn visits the Bennets because he wants to choose a wife between the sisters. Of course, he originally wanted to marry Jane because of her beauty, but she is already promised to Mr Bingley, so Elizabeth is chosen. However Elizabeth isn't interested and she chooses the Mr Wickham, the Godson of the father of Mr Darcy and militia officer as company. Mr Wickham claims to be treated poorly by Mr Darcy and so Elizabeth feels more attracted to Mr Wickham than to Mr. Darcy.

The Bennet family is invited to a ball given by Mr Bingley and everyone expects that Mr Bingley declares to marry Jane. But it is instead an event of humiliation because Mr Bingley leaves Netherfield to go to London the next day. At the same time, Mr Collins tries again to propose to Elizabeth who disagrees finally with a marriage (much to her mother's dismay). But Charlotte Lucas, a friend of Elizabeth agrees happily to marry Mr Collins instead.

Elizabeth is now convinced that Mr Darcy and Mr Bingley's sister didn't want Jane in their family and Elizabeth wants to find out why.

Who will marry the 5 sisters?
Can Jane marry Mr Bingley?
Is there really a conspiracy between Mr Darcy and Caroline Bingley?
Who will Elizabeth choose to marry?
And will Lydia mature up?

Kind regards,
yours truly
